So you want to be a little less dependent on the power grid.  Why not start at work?  “At work you say?”  Yes at work, well if you work in an office and your office is kept at the temperature of meat lockers.  It’s going to take some work.  First you are going to need piping, I would say six inches across with an attachment that will make one end wider say two feet wide.  The length of it is going to completely depend on how far it is from your desk.  Next take your old space heater that you are using to stay warm at your frozen waste land of a desk and throw it away you won’t need it anymore.  Remember we are removing ourself from the grid.  Now get plent of rocks and build yourself a circle.  Large flat river rocks would probably work best.  Now you got that?  Okay put your piping about three feet above your stone circle and run it outside.  Now bring in your wood and kindling.  Start your fire on your stone circle.  Now isn’t that so much better then being yet another leach on the grid?
